Policy on the Use of Generative Artificial Intelligence

The journal Ciencias Veterinarias y Producción Animal adheres to the principles of publication ethics established by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and recognizes the growing use of AI tools and automated technologies in the research and writing process. This policy aims to ensure transparency, academic integrity, and accountability in all publications.

In accordance with the guidelines of COPE and other international organizations, generative AI tools such as ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, Julius, Copilot, Deep Seek, or other large language models may not be listed as authors or co-authors of a manuscript.

Full responsibility for the content of the manuscript, including the accuracy of data, originality, and integrity of all sections, rests exclusively with the human authors.

Authors who use AI tools in the preparation of their manuscript, including writing, style editing, image generation, data analysis, or any other substantial part, must disclose this transparently.

The use of AI for routine tasks such as grammar correction and improving readability is considered a support tool and does not need to be specifically disclosed. However, if the use is more substantial, transparency is mandatory.

The use of AI is prohibited for the following purposes:

AI must not be used to invent, modify, or falsify results or references. Verifying the accuracy of all AI generated information is the responsibility of the authors.

The design or modification of images, tables, or graphs using AI is not permitted, unless it is the central part of the study and is explicitly stated.

Authors may not delegate to AI the responsibility for interpreting, analyzing, or validating information.

The undeclared use of AI tools in the text, images, tables, or any other part of the manuscript will be considered a serious ethical violation. If detected, the article will be automatically rejected.
