Anti-plagiarism policy

The journal Ciencias Veterinarias y Producción Animal adheres to the guidelines of the COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics) on the ethical and moral integrity of publications in science, so plagiarism is an unacceptable practice.

The manuscripts received are analyzed with anti-plagiarism software (iThenticate). This software evaluates the degree of similarity with previously published works, including those of the same author. The aim is to reduce the similarity with previously published works, avoid redundant publications, and, in a more extreme case, detect plagiarism in a submitted manuscript.

By virtue of what is found when using the anti-plagiarism software, similarity can be detected from only a few short and isolated sentences to fragments or complete paragraphs of text from a previously published work (plagiarism). Depending on the magnitude of the similarities, the author will be contacted to solve the situation by modifying the text. However, in cases of evident plagiarism where a large portion of previously published text or data is present, the manuscript will be rejected.
